The Director of Development will be a warm and hardworking individual with a passion for our mission who has a strong desire to work creatively and strategically within the school’s close-knit community. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated development experience, showing increasing levels of responsibility, and must possess superb oral and written communication skills.  The position requires a person who is highly collaborative and able to work closely with a broad group of constituents.

 
The Director of Development will report to the Head of School and be part of an enthusiastic, collaborative and congenial leadership team who represent the school to the broader public.  He or she will partner with the Head of School and the Community Relations Coordinator.  This position also coordinates with the Director of Enrollment as a communications team to ensure consistency in advancement initiatives. Additionally, the Director of Development will work closely with a committed Board of Trustees, particularly the Development Committee, and will have the support of a strong volunteer group through the Hill Parent Association.

The Director of Development will be responsible for the following:
• Devising and managing a program designed to maximize all fundraising in support of the school and ensure strong positive cultivation and stewardship of constituents 
• Providing support in implementing a successful Annual Fund
• Identifying prospective donors, nurturing relationships and securing contributions to the School
• Coordinating a Planned Giving Program
• Helping to develop a strategy for upcoming capital campaign
• Coordinating with the Community Relations Coordinator in the processing of all gifts; ensuring timely acknowledgments and precise giving records
• Keeping the Head of School and Development Committee appropriately involved in and informed of all fundraising activities
