Title: Gift Development Officer Department: Development The Dallas Foundation
Reports to: Senior Director of Development Category: Exempt; Full-time The primary objective is to develop current and long-term relationships built on a firm understanding of the donor’s interest, passion and values in generating major and legacy gifts. This valuable member of the team will report directly to the Senior Director of Development and work in a leadership role to enhance The Foundation’s strategic objectives for resource development with a focus on major gifts, legacy giving and a strong commitment to donor stewardship. Responsibilities: Work closely with the Director of Donor Services to build relationships with current donor-advised fund holders to secure new legacy gift commitments Work individually with professional advisors as needed while responding promptly and accurately to requests for information about Foundation services Provide stewardship of current legacy donors Assist in creation, integration and implementation of intermediate and long-term strategies for major and legacy gifts Meet quality contact goals for both prospects and professional advisors Attend meetings and give presentations to current and potential donors Assist in development and monitoring of departmental budget Assist in the marketing and communication efforts with donors and potential donors through all Foundation platforms Participation in professional development programs of the community foundation field on a regular basis and attend local professional advisor functions Represent the Foundation at a variety of community events Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned by the Senior Director of Development or President as need dictates Minimum Qualifications and Experience: Highly organized, able to multi-task and track multiple projects Self-starter with a heightened sense of initiative Superb customer service Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills, ability to establish effective relationships with both internal and external audiences Excellent time management and attention to detail Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office, accounting and database systems
Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Business, or related field from four-year College or university required. At least 5-10 years related experience.
