Minimum Qualifications: |
Essential Functions of the Position:
- Maintain funder relations to ensure grant renewals and assist Director of Development in identifying and cultivating relationships with potential donors
- Write and distribute quarterly Foundation Newsletter
- Write, edit, and synchronize timely submission of grant proposals with coordination between development and program leaders
- Prepare and update necessary supporting documents for grant applications to include documents such as budget forms, budget justifications, and other required forms
- Manage grant reporting processes, timelines, and information-gathering efforts to comply with internal procedures and funder expectations
- Maintain and update policies and procedures for staff on grants administration and compliance
- Forecast upcoming proposal and reporting requirements, opportunities, and deadlines
- Create invitation lists and coordinate logistics of annual Funder Roundtable
- Manage workplace giving and CFC Campaigns
- Assist with Prospect Research of both foundation funders and individuals
- Support the Director of Development in all aspects of fundraising
- Provide general writing, editing, and other communications support as necessary

Knowledge, skill, and abilities needed to perform the Essential functions of this position:
- 3 years or more in nonprofit grant writing, contract administration
- Demonstrated comprehensive understanding of nonprofit grant writing, outcomes and financial reporting requirements
- Outstanding grammar and research skills required
- Ability to monitor and meet revenue goals
- Strong communication skills
- Willingness to work flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
- Demonstrated proficiency in Raiser's Edge, Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Other: |
Required professional licensing or certifications:
- Valid Texas Driver's License
- Bachelor's degree; in English, professional writing, liberal arts or similar major
- American Grant Writers' Association (AGWA) and/or Grant Professionals Association (GPA) a big plus
- Any Blackbaud/Raiser's Edge certification [Fundamentals, Professional, or Master] a plus
