Minimum Qualifications:
  • Collaborate with the Development team, participating in short and long term departmental planning initiatives including annual budget preparation, setting annual targets and goals, monthly and annual metrics, tracking and reporting, and preparation of annual strategic plan that includes timelines, and resources required for Educational First Steps in Dallas and Tarrant counties.
  • Develop new donor relationships in all areas of development that lead to expanded funding sources by cultivating and negotiating mutually beneficial, sustainable funding relationships and event sponsorships.
  • Expand mid-level and grassroots individual and corporate donor base.
  • Help steward and maintain positive relationships with existing donors and event sponsors.
  • Implement and manage logistics for both the Dallas and Fort Worth annual luncheon events.
  • Help to create and deliver high-level professional presentations to prospective and current donors.
  • Work with the entire Development team in developing, planning and implementing an annual communications/touch calendar including: website, e-blasts, e-newsletters, social media, yearly impact report and other special communications projects.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) or equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • A self- starter with a minimum of 3-5 years of fundraising experience with a non-profit organization
  • Excellent organizational and management skills, ability to meet deadlines and multi-task to meet department goals
  • A successful track record of proactive identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors.
  • Superior written and verbal communications skills with a proven writing and research skills
  • Attention to detail, familiarity with budgets, and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Computer literacy including competency with Microsoft Office, Publisher and Constant Contact.

    Other: Educational First Steps seeks an Associate Development Director to join its Development Team in the planning, executing and overall management of a robust and growing fundraising/development program.  Reporting to the Senior Development Director for North Texas, this position works closely and collaboratively with the Development Director/Tarrant County, the Development Manager overseeing  Database, Donor Recognition and Communications, the Development Committee of the Board of Directors, auxiliary groups and volunteers.  This mission-minded individual will provide the exceptional organizational/managerial skills needed to help assure that annual fundraising goals are met, funding/donor engagement is increased, and the public profile of Educational First Steps is strengthened
