The Advancement/ Fundraising Manager will assist the Director of Development by identifying and pursuing funding from a variety of sources, participating in fundraising campaigns and events, and researching and preparing grant proposals in the Greater Dallas Metroplex.  The A/F Manager will help to diversify donors and revenue streams and plan events and marketing campaigns that cultivate the resources necessary to support the organization’s vision.

While the position is mostly remote, it is expected that they will secure and conduct face-to-face meetings existing and potential donors.  The A/F Manager will be the main point of contact for all donation, grants, and fundraising events and activities in the Dallas region.  A key function of this is donor development. This requires creating and maintaining a database of potential, current, and past donors to produce customized lists for different activities, focusing on people who are likely to attend events, individual donors, association lists, corporate donors, and foundations that provide grants.  In addition to annual fund programs including mailings and annual fundraising drives, they will also assist the Director of Development with growing a major gifts program including identification, cultivation, and solicitation of major donors.

Duties & Responsibilities:

=       Research, identify, and proactively contact prospective donors in the Greater Dallas area.

=       Ongoing communication and meetings with existing donors to keep them informed and engaged.

=       Research previous fundraising efforts by studying literature and mailings available from government funding sources, private foundations, and other generous contributors.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate we are seeking to fill this position is a motivated, goal-driven self-starter that has a passion for children, philanthropic fundraising, and can sell a vision that appeals to potential and existing donor giving.  Being a good salesperson or a good marketer may be helpful in fundraising, but there is far more to this role than sales and marketing.  The ideal candidate will preferably have demonstrated success in developing fundraising programs, recruiting donors and volunteers, and encouraging support through promotional activities.

To be successful in this role, the best candidate will demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, plus strong leadership qualities. Ultimately, a top-notch A/F Manager will be able to perform under pressure, possessing exceptional organizational and presentation skills.
