Position Summary

The Annual Giving Director is responsible for building and expanding the Foundation’s annual giving program to result in progressive revenue growth in annual gifts received. Working with the Senior Vice President – Development, this person will plan and implement annual fundraising events and annual appeals, manage corporate event sponsorships, and leverage volunteer leadership to advance organizational goals.
Minimum Qualifications:

=         Bachelor’s degree 

=         Commitment to the mission and vision of Dallas Women’s Foundation

=         Five to seven years of demonstrated leadership success in designing and managing comprehensive annual giving programs and events

=         Proven experience in raising $1.5M+ per year in annual gifts

=         Superior verbal, written and communication skills, as well as interpersonal and relationship-building skills

=         Strategic thinker

=         Strong presentation skills, including networking and public speaking

=         Donor database knowledge; Raisers Edge preferred

=         Demonstrated ability to work effectively with volunteers

=        Ability to manage multiple projects at one time

=         Must be a team player

Other:

Annual Events:

=         Plan and coordinate the Foundation’s annual fundraising events (Annual Luncheon, Leadership Forum & Awards Dinner and #BestSelf.

=         Recruit, staff and provide leadership for special event co-chairs and host committees, including the Annual Luncheon and Leadership Forum & Awards Dinner Co-Chairs, as well as working with Donor Relations Coordinator to manage event volunteers to assist with events as needed.

=         Coordinate, write and produce corporate and individual event sponsorship proposals, solicitation letters and inquiries.

=         Manage and monitor an active portfolio of event sponsorship solicitations, working across several staff members to exceed event fundraising goals each year.

=         Work with Sr. Director of Development Operations to manage the tracking process, analyze registrations and income for events, and produce regular progress reports.

=         Work closely with Director of Communications on the development of marketing materials for fundraising events (invitations, save the date cards, etc.).

=         Develop and implement an infrastructure for the strategic cultivation and stewardship of event donors to become long-term donors to DWF, ensure proper post-event follow up plans are executed.

=         Develop new strategies to expand net proceeds of all events.

Annual Giving :

=         Develop strategy to increase and retain the number of members in, which is an annual membership group at the Foundation.

=         Recruit, staff and provide leadership for XIX Society Steering Committee.

=         Work closely with Donor Relations Manager to develop and execute Society Member Benefits, including quarterly Breakfast Clubs, Grantee Bus Tours, volunteer opportunities, annual holiday party, and other programs and events throughout the year.

=         Work closely with Director of Communications and Sr. Director of Development Operations to oversee the development of the annual winter and spring appeal campaigns.

=         Coordinate with Director of Communications to create and execute online appeals, including cultivation and acquisition appeals.

Coordinate with Development Team to ensure that appeal letters, newsletters, e-bulletins and other communications pieces speak to our donor audience and serve a fundraising purpose in addition to donor education.
