 Assistant Director Development, Development Programs job at UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, TX

Minimum Qualifications:

This position will fulfill a key role on the fundraising team for UT Southwestern’s Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center, contributing to advancement of the Cancer Center’s clinical, research, and educational initiatives. The position reports to the Director of Development for Cancer Programs and works collaboratively with all members of the Office of Development and Alumni Relations.

Education/Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum two to four (2-4) years demonstrated successful fundraising experience, preferably in an academic medical center, health-related or higher education organization.

Job Duties:

  • Identify, qualify, cultivate, and solicit prospects capable of making gifts of $10,000+.
  • Manage and develop a portfolio of prospective donors and implement solicitation and engagement strategies in support of UT Southwestern priorities.
  • Spend majority of time outside the office qualifying, soliciting, and upgrading gifts from individuals.
  • Build and nurture effective working relationships with physicians, researchers, and volunteer leadership.
  • Work closely with Stewardship team to identify and implement appropriate stewardship strategies.
  • Work collaboratively as a member of the Development team.
  • Write letters, proposals, and case materials.
  • Utilize constituent relationship management system (The Raiser's Edge) to strategically plan and track activities.
  • **Other Duties: Performs other duties as assigned.
