- primary purpose: The Philanthropy Officer – Individual
Giving provides strategic guidance and support to help increase the
fundraising and marketing effectiveness of St. Philips School &
Community Center. This position is responsible for maximizing fundraising
success and to execute and support a broad base of fundraising initiatives,
specifically aimed at building a portfolio of entry-level and mid-level donors. This position will have primary
responsibility and work directly to secure revenue from individual donors
from $5,000 and below within the Philanthropy Office. The position will
serve to support all major efforts of the team in collaboration with the
Chief Philanthropy Officer.

- Increase
annual fund revenue through execution of direct mail and email campaigns, including
list segmentation and messaging/content development. Work closely with the
Communications team to create cohesive online and social media campaigns.
- Retain
and upgrade current donors through a well-defined moves management
process. Draft written materials for outreach, donor proposals and other
correspondence. Implement a sustainer strategy, subscription giving
program and other donor circles. Focus on external constituencies and
growing number of first-time donors to SPSCC.
- Develop
strategies to increase donor retention and upgrade possibilities. Using key giving data to develop a
strong cultivation and stewardship plan for all donors under $5,000 within
the overall philanthropy strategic goals and work plan
- Ensure
the highest quality donor stewardship. Create and implement donor
engagement strategies. Participate in meetings with individual donors and
assist with timely follow-ups as needed.
- Assist
in the procurement of sponsors based on individual donor interests for
various events or special projects
- Collaborate
with all team members to ensure pertinent information regarding potential
donors is being cultivated for stewardship purposes, i.e. information
added to donor profiles.
- In
collaboration with the Philanthropy Special Events Director, manage
individual donor commitments to the Destiny Awards Luncheon .
- Work
with the Chief Philanthropy Officer and Philanthropy Special Events
Director to develop a communication plan for all donors post events or
major projects that engage individual donors and prospects.
- Identify,
engage and steward individual donors to move into major gift category
(over $5,000 giving/year).
- In
collaboration with the Philanthropy Database Coordinator, manage and
maintain individual donor pledges – including preparing and appropriately
filing signed pledge agreements, invoices, and tracking multi-year gifts
to ensure timely annual payments.
- Assist
Chief Philanthropy Officer and Philanthropy Campaign Director to secure
major individual gifts above $5,000 using key data analytics regarding
giving history, capacity and affinity, as appropriate or needed.
Minimum Education
and Experience: =
Bachelor’s
degree in Business, Marketing or a related field =
Minimum
of three (3) years of development experience in individual giving, annual fund
campaigns, donor engagement plan development and execution. =
Competency
in Microsoft Office. Other desired
skills and qualifications:
- Must possess exceptional
strategic thinking abilities and strong professional decision-making
skills.
- Demonstrates
excellent verbal and written communication skills. Examples of these
skills include, but not limited to, analytical, public presentation, and
public speaking skills.
- Certification as
Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) preferred but not required.
- Database
management experience, experience with Raiser’s Edge strongly preferred.
- Excellent proofreading
skills.
- High level of
personal integrity.
