Job Summary: The YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas is seeking a dedicated and strategic Director of Major & Planned Gifts to help advance our mission through the cultivation of transformational donor relationships. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, this position plays a key role in securing major and planned gifts that support the Y's long-term vision and community impact. This position will focus on securing gifts from YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas members, donors and employees as well as growing and stewarding the Heritage Club Society recognition group. The right candidate is excited to take the next career step and appreciates the challenge of discovery work and building relationships. A bachelor's degree in business, communications, or marketing and seven (7) years of previous fundraising experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in business, communications, or marketing and seven (7) years of previous fundraising experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated
successful track record in the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
of major and planned gifts ($50,000 and above) preferred.
- Proficient
in constituent relationship management (CRM) system to strategically plan
and track activities.
- History
of initiating planned giving conversations with prospective donors, and is
comfortable discussing gifts of assets, appreciated securities and
developing long-term relations with planned giving donors.
- Strong
skills in creating powerful, compelling written and oral communications
for fundraising. The ability to convey complex ideas via presentations,
emails, and face-to-face communications.
- Must
be a proactive and creative problem-solver, able to work both
independently and with a broad range of internal and external partners to
develop relationships, facilitate collaboration and achieve results.
- Demonstrated
understanding of fundraising best practices in annual giving campaign,
direct response, special events and working with volunteers.
- Proficiency
with Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), and
donor/constituent management databases.
- Must demonstrate strong organizational and
time-management skills, with outstanding attention to detail and ability to
uphold deadlines.
