Title: Regional Director of Development
Reports to: President and CEO
Direct report(s) include: Volunteers; Interns; Coordinator, Managers
Status: Full-time; Exempt
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Regional Director of Development is responsible for driving revenue and engagement initiatives for the organization. This position will serve as a strategic thought-partner to the CEO and will work with the entire organization to cultivate relationships to drive growth in key markets across the region. This is a critical position that involves cultivating partnerships, ensuring growth and expansion of programs and services, assessing needs and leading initiatives to help achieve organizational goals. The Director will lead the development team to help move deliverables in the organization's strategic plan forward.
He/she works within the guidelines, policies, and mission of the organization and will be accountable and responsible in reporting to the senior leadership of Prevent Blindness South.
Fundraising Strategy
- Collaborate with leadership to create and execute a comprehensive fundraising/development plan.
- Be at the forefront of fundraising to drive immediate impact to help donors support Prevent Blindness South, with focus on Texas and Georgia.
- Build a robust donor pipeline, develop customized engagement strategies aligned with donor interests, and mobilize philanthropic support.
- Monitor fundraising performance metrics and adjust strategies as needed to achieve targets.
- Stay organized and on top of donor engagement with regular and consistent updates to CRM and ensure effective prospecting efforts.
- Drive engagement and growth in corporate partnerships and support.
- Build and grow special event sponsorships and revenue across the region.
- Identify and build new strategic partnerships across the region.
Strategic Major Gifts Fundraising
- Lead the identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individual donors capable of giving $5,000 or more annually.
- Develop and execute customized solicitation strategies that align donor interests with Prevent Blindness South priorities.
- Expand and manage a disciplined portfolio of prospects and donors to achieve measurable revenue goals.
- Build a sustainable donor pipeline that drives long-term philanthropic growth.
Relationship-Driven Donor Engagement
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned donors, ensuring a responsive, high-touch donor experience.
- Build authentic, trust-based relationships rooted in strong emotional intelligence and discretion.
- Anticipate donor needs and proactively create meaningful engagement opportunities.
Marketing and Communications:
- Provide leadership and strategic guidance on marketing, branding, and communications to drive revenue.
- Develop and execute marketing initiatives across the region.
- Conduct analysis of trends and make strategic recommendations for improvements to Senior Leadership.
Other Duties:
- Participate in key volunteer committees as appropriate.
- Participate actively as an agency representative in collaborative partner networks and in related community activities.
- Perform other duties as required by Senior Leadership.
Qualifications:

Demonstrated consistent fundraising and development success.
Demonstrated success in building major giving programs and corporate partnerships.
Demonstrated success in raising and managing at least a million-dollar budget.
Ability to analyze data and make strategic decisions/recommendations to leadership.
Promotes and demonstrates a culture of collaboration and transparency.
Experience with successfully managing special projects and strategic initiatives.
Ability to cultivate, foster and engage key partners and various stakeholders.
Successful track record of utilizing critical thinking and problem-solving skills in building programs and key relationships.
Experience with grant management and reporting.
Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Bachelor's degree in related fields such as communications, business, community relations, or marketing.
At least six years in development, fundraising, partnership development or marketing management.
Must be able to work some weekends and evenings.
Ability to travel 35% or as required.
Position is a remote/hybrid position and can be located in a major market in Texas or Georgia.
