ORGANIZATION

Jesuit College Preparatory School of Dallas, a 75-year old institution, offers young men in grades 9-12 an excellent Catholic education in the classical Jesuit tradition with the purpose of forming a community of men of high moral principles and service to others. With over 1,100 students, 11,000 living alumni, 150 faculty and staff, and thousands of supporters and friends, Jesuit Dallas is a nationally recognized secondary educational institution.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Development at Jesuit Dallas is charged with daily oversight of the advancement department's development functions and reports directly to the vice president of advancement. Additionally, the Director of Development is responsible for cultivating, soliciting and stewarding a portfolio of donors and prospective donors in support of Jesuit funding priorities and outlined initiatives. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated professional with a proven track record of successful relationship building, fundraising and strategic planning/execution.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage a wide range of development functions and personnel as directed by the vice president of advancement to include major gift campaigns, annual appeals, events, advancement services, planned giving, and alumni relations

Cultivate, solicit and steward a portfolio of 100-125 major gift prospects

Solicit gifts directly; work with advancement staff, administration, faculty and key volunteers to implement successful solicitation strategies

Collaborate with members of the advancement staff on other activities such as events, gift recognition, reporting etc. that supports the School's advancement activity

Collaborate with other professionals throughout the school to develop strong working relationships between the advancement department and other departments in an effort to define and maximize desired outcomes

QUALIFICATIONS

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Proven success building and maintaining trusted relationships with key stakeholders and the ability to interact with multiple constituencies

Ability to support the philosophy and mission of the school

Demonstrated accomplishment in the acquisition of donor gifts and the ability to strategize, formulate and close gifts

Demonstrated successful experience in management of personnel and volunteers

Experience with major gift campaigns, annual giving drives and knowledge of planned giving

Ability to handle multiple tasks in an exciting, fast-paced environment

Working knowledge of Blackbaud Raiser's Edge is desirable

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred with five or more years of experience in a comparable fundraising environment.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Work schedule typically Monday – Friday with occasional nights & weekends

Full-time position, 40+ hours per week

Compensation commensurate with education and experience and a full benefits package

Some limited travel may be required
